• District Educational Improvement Council
    ______________________________________________________________

Every school district in the State of Texas is required to establish a committee that regularly meets to plan for the improvement of student performance.

The Board of Trustees of the Plainview ISD has adopted a policy establishing a committee to help with the district-level planning and decision-making process. This committee is called the  Educational Improvement Council or EIC.

The Council is advisory in nature and approves district-level professional development plans. Other purposes include reviewing the District’s educational plans, goals, student performance, drop-out information, and major classroom instructional programs.

Membership in the EIC consists of campus-based professional staff, district-level professional staff, parents, business representatives, and community members. As required by law, at least 2/3 of the district/campus staff must be classroom teachers. Every effort is made to select non-staff members who represent ethnic and program diversity.

EIC meetings are held  at 4:00 p.m. in Room 5 at Houston School, 2417 Yonkers St.

Meeting minutes are made available on the District’s website.
