    TINMAN 10 WINNERS  

     

    For the third time since the conception of the Tin Man Competition, a high school team has walked away with the coveted trophy. The Jaws team from Plainview High School was crowned champion in the Tin Man X South Plains College Robotics Class Robot Battle.

    The event was held April 26 in Building Six on the Reese campus.

    The contest featured 10 teams representing students in the electronics technology program from the SPC main campus in Levelland, SPC Reese Center as well as teams from Plainview High School and Brownfield High School. All three teams from Plainview High swept the preliminary rounds.

    The Orange Teams represented the SPC Reese Center campus, the Blue Teams represented the Levelland campus and the Red Teams represented both Plainview High and Brownfield High.

    The winning Jaws team from Plainview High was comprised of R.A. Nava, Derek Adame and Angel Ybarra. The other Plainview High participants were Aaron Thompson, Angel Ostengen, Grant Ratliff, Taylor McCasland, Nick Arrizola and Daniel Ratliff.
