     Mr. Martinez was born in Valdosta, Georgia, raised in Clovis, New Mexico and currently lives in Lubbock, Tx.  Mr. Martinez graduated school from Clovis High School in 1988 and was a member of the New Mexico All District Band for six years, Outstanding Soloist for the New Mexico All State Solo and Ensemble Contest for two yeas in a row.  He was also a member of the New Mexico All State Band his senior year in High School.  During college, Mr. Martinez was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha and was the Drum Major for the "Sound of West Texas" for six years.  He was also a member of the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps for three years and Drum Major of the Corps for two years.

     Mr. Martinez has taught band in Shamrock, Kenedy, Seagraves, Idalou, Smyer, Mackenzie MS in Lubbock and is currently the marching fundamental director for the Power House of the Plains.  He also teaches the symphonic band at the high school and all trumpet classes at both Estacado and Coronado Middle Schools in Plainview.  He and his wife, Reenie, have four children: Ashley, Arienne (attending WT), Keller and Kelley and currently reside in Lubbock, Tx.  Mr. Martinez is proud to be a part of the Plainview community and looks forward to many more years directing the Power House of the Plains.
