    Robert O’Connor has five years’ history working for the Department of Family and Protective Services and five years’ experience as a high school science teacher. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Text and a Master of Arts in Missions from Abilene Christian University. Robert has been with Plainview High School since 2016.

    O’Connor grew up in Deer Park, NY.  During childhood he took an interest in several areas: choir, cello, chamber orchestra, technical theater, DECCA, swimming, and computer information systems to name a few key interests.

    O’Connor studied at Abilene Christian for 6 years.  In that time, he helped form a swing dance troop, worked for Walmart, Brown Library, and the Abilene Public Library, and also met his wife to be, Kellie George.

    He later married and moved to San Antonio where he spent three years working for Child Protective Services: Conservatorship and Investigations. O’Connor spent time ensuring the well-being of children and working toward the reunification of families.

    O’Connor then moved to Hart, TX with his wife Kellie and continued to work for DFPS for two more years.  At the end of this time, he earned his science certificate and became licensed as a teacher.

    Robert spent five years working with students in Hart, TX. He earned a second certificate in Technology Education and built a robotics program. O’Connor facilitated student trips to Texas Tech University, The University of Texas Austin, The University of Texas Arlington, Six Flags Arlington, Sonora Caverns, NASA in Houston, and Bell Helicopter.

    O’Connor taught 8th grade science, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Robotics and Automation, and Yearbook in his time with Hart ISD.

    Robert is now employed by Plainview High School as an Associate Principal.  He lives in Hart, TX with his wife Kellie and two daughters Adalyn and Eleanor.
