Mr. Jones is in his 7th year as an assistant director in the Plainview ISD band program. He will oversee and facilitate all things percussion as well as direct the High School Blue Band.John was born in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Idalou High School in 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Eastern New Mexico University under Mr. Neil Rutland. After spending a year teaching band and K-12 music in the Alvord Independent School District in North Texas, he moved back to the Lubbock area and completed his work for a Master of Music degree as a graduate assistant in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University under directors Mr. Alan Shinn and Dr. Lisa Rogers.He and his wife Brettney currently reside in Lubbock.
